I totally get why people are upset with George, and also why some say that he doesn't "owe us anything". You're both right. I've flip-flopped between both and honestly, for my own sanity, I've decided that if we get the Winds of Winter soon, I'll be pleasantly surprised, but until then, I won't count on anything.
But seriously, it'd be awful if he don't manage to at least finish The Winds of Winter. The story needs an ending and one better than the Dumb & Dumber version. I'm planning to read the novels properly now but i don't think someone in the future would invest their time in a unfinished huge novel.
